Puppy Power-Up: A Perfect Schedule for Success!

Congratulations on your new puppy! Establishing a schedule is crucial for the well-being and development of your 8-week-old puppy. Here's a suggested schedule that you can follow:

1. Feeding:

- Feed your puppy three times a day, spaced evenly throughout the day.

- Use high-quality puppy food.

- Follow the feeding guidelines on the food packaging for the appropriate portion size.

2. Bathroom breaks:

- Take your puppy outside to relieve themselves immediately after meals, after waking up from naps, and every 1-2 hours during the day.

- Establish a designated spot in your yard for your puppy to eliminate.

- Praise and reward your puppy with treats or verbal praise for successful elimination.

3. Play and exercise:

- Provide regular play and exercise sessions to help burn off energy and stimulate mental development.

- Engage your puppy in interactive games such as fetch, tug-of-war, or puzzle toys.

- Ensure the activities are age-appropriate and avoid excessive exercise to prevent joint issues.

4. Socialization and training:

- Expose your puppy to various environments, sounds, and people to build their confidence and social skills.

- Begin basic obedience training using positive reinforcement techniques.

- Teach simple commands like "sit," "stay," and "come."

- Keep training sessions short (5-10 m inutes) to accommodate your puppy's short attention span.

5. Nap time:

- Puppies need plenty of rest for their growth and development.

- Provide a quiet and comfortable area for your puppy to nap throughout the day.

- Encourage your puppy to use a designated bed or crate for napping.

6. Bedtime routine:

- Establish a consistent bedtime routine for your puppy to help them settle down at night.

- Provide a comfortable sleeping area, such as a crate or bed, in a quiet part of your home.

- Take your puppy out for a final bathroom break before bedtime.

Remember, each puppy is unique, and their needs may vary slightly. Adjust the schedule based on your puppy's individual behavior and requirements. It's also essential to consult with a veterinarian for specific guidance on your puppy's diet, vaccinations, and overall health care needs. As always we are here to give you insights from our experiences.
